Eight students from Minglanilla National Science High School (MNSHS) bagged awards during the Division Level MTAP Metrobank Math Challenge Team Finals 2004 last February 13, 2004 in Consolacion NHS, Consolacion, Cebu. 
     The Math Quiz Team Finals was the highlight of the contest. It was compose of three categories: Easy, Average and Difficult Rounds. The competition was participated by different schools in Cebu Province. 
     In the said tilt, eight MingScians competed and won. Sophomores Mayrian Cadiz and Sharlyn Bacalso ranked 1st; Freshmen Mayrian Aracap and Shallimar Galliardo, 2nd; Seniors Kenneth John Racoma and Crystal Perez, 2nd, and; Juniors Marbelyn Bastatas and Dann Crescent Luceño, 3rd. 
    The contestants, coached by Ms. Merden Largo, Math teacher, underwent rigid review and training. 
     When asked how they did it, one of them simply replied: “We did it with all our best, and the efforts paid off. The support of the school, our coach’s encouragement and the responsibility of bringing the name of the school were great factors that helped us win.”
